Markets name is Can Tho and it is located in the Cai Lan district. It’s about 30 minutes away by boat from the center of Can Tho city. You can find huge variety of vegetables, fruits etc., gathered in the Mekong Delta and sold in the market. When entering the market, first thing you see- A large boats and a lot of small boats around them. Those are wholesalers and their customers respectively. Yes, instead of cars people use boats here.
Cabbage, pumpkin, pineapple are tied up on the boat, and it is like a sign that helps you to see goods sold on the ship. Fruits such as pineapple can be cut on the spot and eaten there by the tourists.
Vietnam has very big rice cuisine culture just like Japan, China ect. Not to mention white rice, rice paper, rice noodles, most of the staple food is made from rice.In Can Tho, thin and flat noodles called “Futu” are mainstream, and there are many noodle places in the city.

One of the main attractions here is “crocodile fishing”. But no worries, crocodiles wont be hurt or caught for real, there are no hooks attached to the rope. It is just entertaining game with crocodiles. You attach raw meat to the rope and feed it to crocodiles.
Another neat attraction in the village is swine race. It’s held three times a day and you can bet on a winner. People are buying a betting ticket for 20,000 dong (110 yen), and if your pig wins you can get a piggy bank full of small golden pigs. Similar to dog race but more entertaining.
